During the course, experts of the justice administration and academia will discuss the potential of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and its use in court, in connection with other human rights legal instruments.
The course is focused on legal practice. The objective is to provide lawyers with tools to facilitate the use of the legal framework of fundamental rights and thus to influence the implementation of the Charter.
The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union "in action" is a project financed by the European Commission whose general objective is to promote a common legal and legal culture at European level, which helps to strengthen the area of justice of the Union . More specifically, the project is aimed at spreading the scope of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (CFR) and providing concrete tools for legal actors to better manage the legal framework on fundamental rights, as well as for a correct implementation of the letter.
The project, which is part of the DG Justice Program, is implemented in four countries by the following institutions: the Institut de Drets Humans de Catalunya in Spain, the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the University of Szczecin in Poland and the Center Of Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, leader of the project, in Portugal.
The aim of this training is to disseminate the scope of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights and to provide concrete tools for legal actors to better manage the legal framework on fundamental rights and for the proper implementation of the Charter.
